About Us

Message from the Headteacher

You are your child’s first educator. In choosing Our Lady and St. John I will make sure you are not disappointed. Building a strong relationship with you is important to me. Together we can ensure that that your son or daughter is given the best possible start in life.

Pupils are expected to: wear correct full school uniform, have good attendance, be punctual and complete homework. The school has high academic aspirations and expects everyone to have good discipline and show respect. During the school day we expect the highest standards of behaviour. Together we can ensure that your child gets the very best. Together we can create Blackburn’s best school.

Our curriculum is academic and is designed to provide wider opportunities for spiritual, social, cultural and physical growth. As you can see, we have a vibrant, modern and welcoming learning environment with bespoke facilities for Year 7, giving them extra support as they join our school community. Your child will thrive here.

I am proud to be Headteacher of Our Lady and St John Catholic High School. I have a personal commitment to ensuring that we provide a high quality, Catholic education for every pupil in our school. Our pupils are encouraged to live life to the full, to fulfil their potential and to lead others through their example in a spirit of service. I am excited about our future. We are a school making ‘rapid progress’ and aim for excellence in all that we do. We are at the cutting edge of educational development employing a number of Specialist Leaders in Education who will ensure the highest teaching standards. Our academic curriculum will ensure that we motivate our pupils to meet the opportunities and challenges that adult life will offer.

This is a school where we combine traditional values with Twenty First Century Learning. This is a school where ‘behaviour is good’ but where good is not good enough. Together, we can create something special. Together, we can give your child an ‘inspirational’ education.

I look forward to working with you.
