BwD Schools Working Together Conference
On Friday 1 March, 6 Year 9 pupils attended the first Blackburn with Darwen Schools Working Together Conference at Ewood park.
The 6 girls have been working throughout the year in school on the Peace charter and
the conference was an opportunity to come together with other schools and thank them for the continued commitment in raising awareness for world peace.
The day involved taking part in a number of workshops which question, evaluate and celebrate the work they have achieved around the subject of terrorism and the effects it has on our communities.
Education and speech activist Ahmad Nawaz a survivor of a Taliban attack spoke detail about his own experiences and talked about the importance of empowering youth sustainability and ensuring everyone has access to quality education.
The girls were excellent Ambassadors and a credit to the school.
