Summer Exams 2021

This page contains important information about the Summer Exams 2021 and will be updated regularly.

In January 2021, the Government cancelled the 2021 summer exam series. The DfE and Ofqual asked teachers to provide pupils with teacher assessed grades (TAGs) based on the standard they were working at by June 2021. This meant grading pupils on what they knew, understood and could do by this time.  Teachers were not able to judge pupil’s potential or predict grades – it had to be based on the evidence teachers collected from the pupils over the course of their study. The full details on the Summer Exams 2021 can be found on JCQs website. To find out more please click here.

Results Days

The TAG process is now complete and grades have been submitted to the appropriate awarding bodies ready for pupils to receive them on results days.
Pupils and parents CANNOT find out teacher assessed grades before results day. If pupils or parents ask the school or teachers for their grades this is  MALPRACTICE.  The school is required to report this to the exam boards.

Results days will take place on Thursday 12 August 2021
There will be no on-site collection of results this year. Results will be sent via school email  16..........@olsj.blackburn.sch.uk

Full details of the appeals process have now been published by the Joint Council for Qualifications (JCQ).
