We are proud to announce that Our Lady & St John Roman Catholic High School has been awarded the Foundation Level of the British Council’s prestigious International School Award. This recognition celebrates our commitment to embedding global learning into the classroom and fostering cultural understanding among our students.
Led by Mrs Smith, Director of Mathematics, our innovative approach integrates Catholic Social Teaching (CST) into the maths curriculum—connecting mathematical thinking with real-world global issues such as inequality, climate change, ethical finance, and resource distribution.
Mrs. Smith explains, “We believe mathematics should empower students not only to think logically but also to understand the world around them. By embedding global themes into our teaching, we are helping students grow into compassionate, informed global citizens.”
With many of our students arriving from international backgrounds, we are proud to nurture a globally aware and inclusive learning environment.
