Welcome to Our Lady & St John RC High School (OLSJ)!
We are delighted to welcome our new pupils and their families into the OLSJ family as they begin this exciting next chapter of their education.
Starting secondary school is a big milestone, and we understand that it can bring a mixture of excitement and nerves for both pupils and parents/carers. Our aim is to make the transition from primary to secondary school as happy, positive and smooth as possible.
At OLSJ, we pride ourselves on providing a welcoming, supportive and caring environment where every pupil feels valued, safe and encouraged to achieve their very best, both academically and socially.

We work closely with primary schools, parents and carers to ensure that every child feels confident, supported and ready for their journey at OLSJ.
School Admissions
All offers of school places are managed in partnership with the Blackburn with Darwen School Admissions Team.
Parents and carers should ensure that they respond to any school place offers and complete any required admissions documentation within the deadlines provided.
Once a place has been accepted, families will receive further information from OLSJ regarding the transition process, including any necessary pupil information forms and arrangements for joining our school.

Supporting a Successful Transition
Throughout the transition process, we aim to help pupils feel part of our school community before they even walk through our doors.
We provide opportunities for pupils and families to become familiar with school life, meet staff and learn more about the exciting opportunities available at OLSJ.
Details of transition activities, information evenings and other important arrangements will be shared with families at the appropriate time.
