Primary Transition
Primary Transition Class of 2024

Welcome to our Year 6 transition page.

We update this page regularly and share lots of information for both parents/carers and pupils. We are delighted to welcome so many young people into the OLSJ family for September 2024.

Please ensure that you return your acceptance (once released 1st March 2024) via email/admissions website to Blackburn with Darwen school admission team at the earliest opportunity.

It is important whether you accept or decline the offer for OLSJ that the authority are informed.

On accepting your place, please click this link below and complete the data collection form required by OLSJ to begin the transition process. You will also have received this via email/text, unless your contact details have since changed from your original application.

The form is of great importance, and you will need to set aside 15 mins to complete your earliest convenience.

We understand that transition can bring a range of emotions and we aim to make the process as happy and smooth as possible for both pupil and parent/carer. Our aim is to welcome our new pupils into the OLSJ family and help them to grow academically and socially, in a safe and happy school.

For further information directly about OLSJ and our transition please use the links on this page.

Dates for your diary.

Year 6 transition day – TBC July 2024

Year 6 parent/carer information evening – TBC July 2024

Our deadline to accept or decline the offer of a place is 31st March 2024. Once again if accepting or declining please let both the school and Blackburn with Darwen admissions know.

Parents/carer who fail to respond to their offer of a school place will be contacted by the admission team at Blackburn with Darwen either by email or letter. You will be asked to respond and confirm whether you accept or decline the place you have been offered for your child.

If you do not respond to this correspondence by the date stipulated, we will assume that you do not require the place and it will be withdrawn. This will mean that your child will be without a school place. If you then decide you want a place at an academy or a maintained school for your child, you will have to contact the admissions team to discuss an alternative school place for your child.
