Road safety – The Riot Act

This morning, we were delighted to welcome visitors from The RiotACT to work with our Year 7 students on the extremely important topic of road safety. The session combined an engaging live performance with an interactive workshop, helping students to better understand the dangers and responsibilities associated with staying safe on and around the roads.

Through powerful storytelling, realistic scenarios, and student participation, the performance encouraged our young people to think carefully about the choices they make as pedestrians, cyclists, passengers, and future drivers. The workshop explored a range of important issues including distractions, peer pressure, awareness when crossing roads, and the importance of making safe and responsible decisions.

Our Year 7 students were fully engaged throughout the morning and showed excellent maturity, enthusiasm, and participation during the activities and discussions. The interactive nature of the workshop allowed students to ask questions, share ideas, and reflect on how road safety impacts everyday life.

Opportunities such as this are invaluable in helping students develop awareness, confidence, and life skills beyond the classroom. We are very grateful to The RiotACT team for delivering such an informative, thought-provoking, and memorable experience for our students.

A huge thank you to everyone involved in organising the event and to our Year 7 students for representing the school so positively throughout the morning.
